One of the sales representatives at Metroland requested a spec advertisement for Canadian Tire as a part of a sales pitch for their long weekend sale. He wanted two versions to be created as part of the proposal. Three pieces make up the popup, one for the front, one for the spread and one for the back.
Since the long weekend sale was focused on gardening and yard work, a common activity for that time of year, I wanted the pop up banners to capture the ambience of working out in the yard. The first version had a more open feel, with the blue sky and fresh green lawn. The second version was more down to earth, focusing more on the grass and dirt, warmed by the sunlight.
